We were equally impressed with Jorge Amaral who we had the pleasure of meeting while staying in Porto. Jorge drove us around for exclusive tours through Duomo Valley and beyond. With Peña palace staff striking the day we were to visit, Pedro came up with an alternative in matter or minutes and we were quickly rerouted.

Wow! Stunning hotel facing the ocean. Public rooms are breathtaking with art and sculptures everywhere. The outdoor infinity pool overlooking the sea was stunning. Also, the Water Lounge with a family pool, adult pool, salt water pool, steam room, and sauna. The spa massage was top-notch. This is definitely a five-star experience. The breakfasts were enough to fill you for the day and the staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming. The pool bar and cafe around the school made for a lovely dining experience for breakfast and lunch. Our room was huge, with sea views a dressing area, and a modern bath. As we were leaving at 6:15 AM they woke us with a call at five and then came by at 5:15 to make sure we were up. Also brought us breakfast bags with cappuccino as room service was not as yet open. Highest recommendation!

Pedro paid attention to every detail. The hotels in Lisbon and Porto were terrific, good rooms , great locations and the staff was polite , attentive and helpful. The walking tours were intimate and and provided many varied facts. We learned so much !
In Lisbon Margarita was upbeat and a font of knowledge . Margarita was friendly and helpful with all our questions (and we had many ☺️).
In Porto Andre’ was our guide. Andre has a deep connection with Porto and he was able to share details in the history and in present day Porto. As Andre found out more about us, he was able to personalize the tour leaning into our interests. Andre was especially patient with the many questions we asked throughout the tour.
Pedro planned things well , but as wonderful as everything was, the drivers were the most outstanding individuals.
Duarte picked us up from the airport He was warm and welcoming and able to give us some good information.
Eduardo was A m a z I n g. Eduardo drove us to Sintra and was warm kind and helpful. He answered many questions and we felt that we formed a nice relationship. After Sintra Eduardo took us to a great restaurant where we shared a lovely lunch.
Nelson had the job of driving us to Porto. He was warm and welcoming. Nelson is a gracious and patient man. He was informative about our stops along the route and polite when anyone asked questions of any sort.
Jao was also welcoming and kind He took us to the Duro Valley. When we saw that there was a boat approaching the locks , Jao offered to stop for us to observe. It was pretty cool.
We were delighted to see Eduardo when he appeared to drive us from Porto to Cascais. Eduardo made the trip and our interim stops a delight. It was sad to say goodbye to him.

We had an amazing trip. Pedro planned so many great and varied activities from Fado to port tasting, Sintra to The Duro Valley, boat rides and walking tours.

VERY cool hotel given that it's inside the old fort. The room was a GREAT size and loved that it had a king size bed and bathroom with PLENTY of room for the both of us. We did have an issue where we were unable to use the air conditioning, we talked with the hotel staff and they basically told us there was nothing they could do (if one room on the floor has the heat on, no one else can turn the air conditioning on....). The breakfast was the worst of the three hotels we stayed in, but the views from the breakfast room were incredible. We did like that we had access to the spa/steam room! Location was excellent, easy walk around Cascais!

We ended up having him for nearly all of our transportation, which was excellent because we were able to get comfortable with one another and he was able to understand and accommodate our preferences. Rui is so friendly and did an excellent and thorough job ensuring that we knew where to go, how to find him, etc. He made a reservation for us for lunch at a wonderful restaurant on our drive back and was clearly very knowledgeable about the area.

The hotel in Lisbon had a traditional feel and was a little way away from the main touristy areas, which I appreciated. The rooms were lovely, and the staff was wonderful. We stayed in Lisbon at the Tivoli a truly first-class hotel with a beautiful lobby and attentive well-trained staff. Our guide in Lisbon was Ricardo who showed us the beautiful city and took us to a number of spots for a better understanding of the city and what it has to offer. He made some very good recommendations as to other places to visit and shop.

Our only disappointment in Lisbon was the Fado performance. The food and wine were terrible and the performance okay. If this is something of interest to you, we suggest finding a restaurant with a good meal, and going to a Fado performance afterwards. There seemed to be a number of places offering this type of music.

Our trips to Sintra and back/forth to Porto were excellently guided by our driver Eduardo. We cannot say enough good things about him. He was knowledgeable, offered excellent suggestions as to things to see and do, and even made lunch reservations for us at places we had our best meals at.

In Porto we had a super guide in Tereza who showed us the city and provided the Gastronomic Tour. We enjoyed some decent food and a very good wine and port tasting. She also made suggestions as to other sites and shopping. With a tour, lunch and wine tasting, we skipped the Port tasting, and chose to explore the city. Our disappointment in Porto was the hotel Pestana Porto. It is understaffed, and a somewhat tired hotel. The location while having beautiful river views, is in a very touristy area with many bars and restaurants that produce noise well into the night.

Our tour of the Douro Valley was excellent. Our driver Luis has and encyclopedic knowledge of the area, and wineries. Our lunch, winery tour and tasting at Pacheca was very good and we had a wonderful day.

Lastly, in Cascasi, we stayed at Pestana Cascais which was a unique experience. The hotel is well run and was very enjoyable. Cascasi was a fun last stop at a beach resort prior to heading home.

We were very pleased with KimKim and Adventure Portugal and would highly recommend Pedro and team.

We had a bunch of tours and activities planned at various cities we visited (Lisbon, Évora, Porto, Cascais), All the tour guides were knowledgeable, professional, speak excellent English, and fun. Especially we want to thank our Lisbon guide Ricky who gave us the tour in pouring rain without an umbrella fully demonstrated his professionalism and love of the city!

Our trip would have been perfect if the “Gastronomic Experience” in Porto was actually about food. It turned out to be another wine tasting tour and a gift buying stop for jam. With another wine cellar visit at Sandeman (I’d recommend to skip if you are visiting Pachuca also with a nice lunch the next day) in the afternoon, we ended up tasting 12 glasses in 1 day pp and left the kids hungry and bored. Porto is a beautiful city, but I wish they have more to offer for kids or family-friendly activities for those who don’t drink wine.

Overall, the trip was memorable for us but with room for improvements. The best of the best was the NYE fireworks, the seafood, the walking tours, and the wine (for the adults). Thank you the team at Kimkim and Across Portugal for bringing us this great trip!
